Colorado County sets Town Hall meeting for upcoming voting

COLUMBUS – COLUMBUS – To all the concerned citizens of Colorado County, there will be a town hall meeting on tonight (Thursday, April 18), from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Nesbitt Memorial Library at 529 Washington St. in Columbus.

COLUMBUS — To all the concerned citizens of Colorado County, there will be a town hall meeting on tonight (Thursday, April 18), from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Nesbitt Memorial Library at 529 Washington St. in Columbus.

A joint election will be held on May 4. Early voting will be from Monday, April 22, through Tuesday, April 30.

The agenda will include Proposition A—$8,440,00 of bonds for the construction, acquisition, renovation, and equipment of school buildings in the Columbus Independent School District; and Proposition B—$5,530,00 of bounds for the construction, acquisition, renovation, and equipment of school buildings in the Columbus Independent School District, including the construction and equipment of new high school career technology classrooms.

There will also be a Meet and Greet with the candidates. Candidates for the Columbus Independent School District Board of Trustee positions are Cameron Frey, Carla Swindle Wiggs, Bo Schobel and Roman Footnick.

Candidates for the Weimar Independent School District Board of Trustee positions for Place 3 are Leah Newby and Thomas Strickland; and, Place 4 are April Mikulenka and Shannon Holland.

City of Weimar City Council mayors candidates are Milton Ray Koller and Todd Jacobs; Place 2 are Kyle Christen and Stephen Helmcamp; and Place 4 are Zach Sanchez, Kevin “Cat- fish" Janecka, and Carlton Tuck er.
