High school coach arrested for trafficking narcotics

EL CAMPO – Members of the Westside Narcotics Task Force (HIDTA) executed an arrest warrant on April 16, in Wharton County.

EL CAMPO — Members of the Westside Narcotics Task Force (HIDTA) executed an arrest warrant on April 16, in Wharton County.

Task Force officers located and arrest ed Steven Marshall, 52, at a residence located at 400 Block of Heights Ave. in El Campo. Marshall was charged with the Manufacture and/or Delivery of a Controlled Substance of four grams to 200 grams.

Suspected crystal methamphetamine was seized during the investigation. Marshall was arrested and transported to the Colorado County Jail in Columbus without incident.

The investigation began when Task Force Officers received information that an area high school coach, identified as Marshall, was trafficking narcotics in the Colorado County area.

During the investigation, Task Force officers learned that Marshall was em ployed as a coach at the Louise ISD High School.

The investigation is ongoing, and more charges may be filed.

The Colorado County Attorney’s Office and the Colorado County Sheriff's Office were involved in the investigation.

The Westside Narcotics Task Force covers four counties and is comprised of investigators from the Austin County Sheriff's Office, Bellville PD, Sealy PD, Hempstead PD, Waller County Sheriff’s

Office, Fayette County Sheriff's Office, Colorado County Sheriff's Office, and the US Drug Enforcement Administration.
