LA GRANGE — The thunder rolled and the rain came on April 20 at the Fayette County Sheriff’s Posse rodeo arena near La Grange.
The slippery conditions made it diffi cult for the riders, animals and vehicles as the rodeo went off without a hitch in its giddy-up.
Someone forgot to tell Mother Nature that it’s spring as the rain was accompanied by a cold front that pushed through, but the crowd and the riders seemed to feed off the challenge. The Doc West Band kept things boot scootin’ along with a dance after the rodeo.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Posse assists the sheriff's office when asked in emergencies, keeps the old west traditions alive, teaches kids the art of sport and horsemanship, volunteerism and responsibilities, among other community endeavors.
