Grace’s Table: The beloved community meal returns

COLUMBUS – Grace’s Table is a community meal held once per month. There is no charge. The purpose is for people and families to gather and share a meal, get to know their neighbors, and experience fellowship. Grace’s Table is a ministry of the First United Methodist Church of Columbus, but the church stresses that it is non-denominational and open to the entire community.

There is no registration or qualifications. Just bring your appetite.

Grace’s Table was a successful program in past years, but location changes and COVID-19 forced it to cease operations. Chief cook and kitchen manager Ester Chandler said, “We felt the need to restart the program and are very happy to serve the entire community.”

March’s menu included meatloaf, green beans and various desserts. April’s menu included chicken spaghetti and salad with even more desserts.

May’s dinner will be held Wednesday, May 22, from 5:30 until 7 p.m. or until all the meals are gone. The location is The Family Life Center at 419 Washington St. in Columbus.

The menu will be announced any day now.
