Tons of tri-county area track runners heading to state once again

As the UIL State Track Tournament approaches, there are many athletes from the tri-county area who will be heading to the University of Texas for this prestigious event, as it’s been that way for some years now.

As the UIL State Track Tournament approaches, there are many athletes from the tri-county area who will be heading to the University of Texas for this prestigious event, as it’s been that way for some years now.

The athletes that will be participating in state track from 4A Bellville are Dashon Sanders (shot put) and Hunter Kunkel (300 hurdles).

From 1A Fayetteville is Jack Schley (long jump and triple jump), Lawson Fritsch (pole vault), Cole Fenhaus (3200 run), Cambree Denham (pole vault and high jump), and Olivia Dominey (400 meter dash).

Fayetteville is competing in the 4x400 relay which consists of Reid Gross, Mason Fenhaus, Ottis Dominey, Keagan Supak, Lawson Fritsch, Brody Dooley, Jack Schley and Enoch Loafman.

Heading to state from 2A Flatonia is Zachary Charanza (discus), and Kobe Burton (shot put).

4A La Grange is sending Macie Collier (300 hurdles) and Austen Diggs (200 dash).

From 3A Rice is Tatiana Mills (discus), Robert Myers (shot put), and Jael Valles-Serrano (800 run).

1A Round Top-Carmine has Egypt Woods in the long jump and the 100 meter dash. Schulenburg is sending Meredith Magliolo in the high jump.

From 4A Sealy is Ryanne Meyer (high jump), Taniah Coleman (long jump and triple jump), Emma Statham (pole vault), and Annabelle Williams (800 run).

Rounding out the list is Katharina Chaloupka from 2A Weimar in the pole vault.

Events will be held at the Mike A. Myers Stadium starting Thursday, May 2, 3A and 4A, with a full slate of area athletes from 9 a.m. all the way until 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 3 will have 2A athletes with area runners competing from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., then Saturday, May 4 with another full slate of 1A athletes from 9 a.m. to 8:20 p.m.
