Around the kitchen table With its set of well-worn chairs, Is where a family gathers For life’s everyday affairs. Where toddlers learn to color And the cookies sit to cool, Where older kids spend hours doing homework after school. Where everybody’s family When they come there to relax, To talk about the latest news And pass around the snacks. And around the kitchen table, Mom, I remember to this day, Those memory-making moments That are in my heart to stay.
