The Texas runoff election is on May 28, 2024. The early voting begins on May 20 and ends on May 24.

For voters planning to vote by mail, you must apply for the ballot through Ballot by Mail or Federal Postcard Applications.

The deadline for mail-in ballot applications is May 17.

What is a runoff election?

A candidate must win a plurality and majority of votes (more than 50% of the vote) to be considered a winner in their primary.

Can voters who did not vote in the primary election vote in the runoff election?

If the person is registered to vote, yes you can vote in the runoff election. It’s treated as a new election. The last day to register to vote in the 2024 runoff was April 29.

Can I vote in one party's primary election and another party's primary runoff election?

No. By voting in a party’s pri- mary election, a voter has affil iated themselves with that party and is ineligible to participate in primary runoff election of another party during that calendar year.
