Flatonia High School senior Kobe Burton not only made it to the state track meet at University of Texas, but excelled by earning a gold medal in the 2A boys shot put event last weekend.
Burton breezed through his opponents with all his throws in the 50’s. Burton has a history of making it to state shot put, so a gold medal was destined to be in his grasp as he impressed yet again at the highest level.
Burton also plays basketball and football while getting quality minutes in both sports. His first throw in the shot put event was his best throw at 55-5.75. His next two throws were both above 54 and had a 53-4.75 and 52-10.00 in his final two. Burton can now add his name to the Flatonia history books with his most recent performance and consistent appearances at state track.
