COLUMBUS-It was a weekend when the community came alive with the thunderous excitement of Thunder By The Colorado.
One couldn't tell if the thunder came from the sky or the track as the weekend was filled with both. The 11th annual truck and tractor pull, a beloved event, took place from May 3 through May 4 at the Colorado County Fairgrounds in Columbus.
Minirod tractors, modified trucks, super-modified tractors brought in by competitors throughout Texas and beyond, modified of all types took to the track and showed off its enor - mous horsepower as competitors came wheel to wheel for the top spots. Spectators who could sit next to the track couldn't believe their eyes and ears as the powerful engines revved up as drivers pushed their machines to the limits in a raw pulling event.
Next year promises to be just as spectacular, so get your earplugs ready.
