Fleeing felon causes lockdowns

COLUMBUS – Michael White, 23, of Wharton fled the Colorado County Courthouse in Columbus on May 10 when bailiffs at the courthouse attempted to arrest White for an outstanding warrant.

COLUMBUS — Michael White, 23, of Wharton fled the Colorado County Courthouse in Columbus on May 10 when bailiffs at the courthouse attempted to arrest White for an outstanding warrant.

White fled on foot into the residential area where he went through several yards and stealing a bike.

He resisted arrest and was tased for his reckless behavior and arrested.

When White fled the court house, area schools and daycares were placed on lockdown.

White was cleared by the EMS and he was charged with evading arrest and resisting arrest.
