FREE AFTER SCHOOL ART CLASSES
COLUMBUS — The Live Oak Art Center located at 1014 Milam St. in Columbus offers free after school art classes every Wednesday and Thursday from 4 to 5 p.m. Register on the website www.liveoakartcenter.org under the classes and events tab. The free classes are offered throughout the whole school year. If registration is full they can always check back each semester.
SENIORS TOGETHER SOCIAL SCHEDULE
Seniors Together, a place for senior’s, 55 years or older to so- cialize with others is held every first and third Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church Lighthouse Fellowship Hall at 201 Veteran’s Dr. in Columbus. and at the Weimar Civic Center in Weimar on the second and fourth Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The events includes card games, board games, Bingo with prizes, coffee and tea, movies, lunch provided, educational speakers, field trips including trips to casinos and so cial gathering.

FATHER'S DAY/BBQ CELEBRATION PLANNED
MILLHEIM — Millheim Harmonie Hall will hold a Father’s Day and barbecue celebration Sunday, June 16 at the hall located on Farm-to-Market Road 949 between Sealy and Bellville. The meal is a real Texas style open pit barbecue served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The cost to make your plate and dine in is $18 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. To go plates at the drive-thru are $18. SHELBY VFD TO HOLD FUNDRAISER
SHELBY — The Shelby Volunteer Fire Department will hold its 66th annual fundraiser Sunday, May 26 at Harmonie Hall in Shelby. The $15 meal includes barbecue beef and pork, german potatoes, green beans and barbecue sauce. The dine in-cafeteria style meal and to go plates will be served starting at 11 a.m. Barbecue by the pound will be available at $15 per pound. A live auction will begin at 1 p.m. Raffle tickets will be available. A free dance, with music provided by the Blue Denim Band will begin following the auction.
HUNTER SAFETY CERTIFICATION CLASS SET
WEIMAR — Friends of the Weimar Public Library will be offering a Hunter Safety certification class Friday, July 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Certification is required for hunters in Texas. The class will be held at the Weimar Junior High cafeteria. Seating is limited and attendees must be registered to get into the class. FRELSBURG VFD TO HOLD FEAST
FRELSBURG — The Frelsburg Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual feast Sunday, June 9 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church grounds in Frelsburg. A chicken and sausage meal, at $15 per plate, dine-in or drive-thru, will be served starting at 11 a.m. Plates to go drive-through line will be available. Barbecue to go will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Hamburgers and nachos will be available after 3 p.m. There will be a drawing with first place prize a $5,000 gift card. Other activities include cake wheel, country store, games and silent auction. A free dance, with music by The Lost Cause Band, will follow the auction and continue until 8 p.m. Proceeds go toward new fire equipment and operating expenses.

CAT SPRING - The Cat Spring Agricultural Society will hold its annual Barbecue Fest Saturday, June 1 at the hall at 13035 Hall Rd. in Cat Spring. Serving starts at 5 p.m., including beef, pork and sausage. Dine in and plates to go are $15 and children 10 and under $8. The event includes a live auction that starts at 6:30 p.m., deck of cards raffle, cake walk, fun events for the kids and corn hole tournament beginning at 4 p.m.

FLATONIA — Sacred Heart Parish in Flatonia will hold its spring picnic Sunday, June 2. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. A fried chicken and stew dinner will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. inside the hall at $13 per plate. The meal will be served dine-in, drive-thru or walk-up. Bingo will be begin at noon. A live auction will begin at 1 p.m. The event will include a cornhole tournament, country store, cake & plant walk, silent auction, and children’s games.
