Adventure begins at Nesbitt Memorial Library

COLUMBUS – Participants will find that "adventure begins at Nesbitt Memorial Library” in Columbus for their annual summer library program.

COLUMBUS — Participants will find that "adventure begins at Nesbitt Memorial Library” in Columbus for their annual summer library program.

The reading program is open to all ages: Early Literacy, ages 0 to 4; children, ages 5 to 12; teens, ages 13 to 18, and adults, ages 18-plus. Reading will be tracked on an app this year. A prize and ticket are awarded for every 10 picture books or 250 pages read. Only books checked out from the library or Central Texas Digital Consortium - Libby, count towards the program.

Materials must not be checked out before May 28 in order to qualify and the last day to record books that have been read is July 19.

A drawing for tickets awarded for reading will be held at the Closing Party on Monday, July 22 at 10:30 a.m. Winners do not have to be present to win.

You do not have to attend programs to participate in the reading portion of the program.

Check out the calendar for weekly adventure-related programming: Mother Goose storytimes, a Story Hour, educational performers, and and an Engineering Camp with registration required as space is limited.

There will also be a Lego Club, D&D, book discussions, a Teen Escape Room, a Family escape room, and movies.
