LA GRANGE—Between the 1870s and 1920s, the Bluff Schuetzenverein invited people from all across Texas to participate in marksmanship contests. The bluff overlooking La Grange and the site of Kreische Brewery was also during the Bluff Schetzenfest, the site of holiday celebrations, picnics, games and German folk music.

The Bluff Schuetzenfest, a testament to the rich German heritage, kicked off on May 18 at the bluff in La Grange. The event catered to all, with the Texas history on Tap Beer Garden serving adult beverages, Laser King Shoot Competitions adding thrill, and German music creating a festive atmosphere.

For the active ones, a 5K fun run was organized in the morning. Community booths, living history programs, and old-time festival games provided entertainment for all.
