BELLVILLE — The 2024 Annual Youth and Safety Day event was held May 21 at the Austin County Fairgrounds in Bellville and was a collaborative effort to address the safety concerns of youth. The support from the community was greatly appreciated and are already eagerly anticipating the next year’s event, where, once again, everyone can come together to promote child safety.
This year’s presenters were Austin County Sheriff’s Department - Gun Safety; San Bernard Electric Coop - Electricity Safety; Texas Parks and Wildlife Department - Nature Awareness; Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service - Passenger Safety; Carl Prien - Snake Awareness; Austin County EMS – Emergency Services; Fayette County AgriLife Extension - Look- A-Likes; Sealy Fire Department - Fire Safety; and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension (Austin County) - Horse Safety.
