The Weimar High School softball team’s season came to an end last week after a run for a repeat at the state title as they were defeated by Shiner High School May 22 and 23.

Weimar went down in the se- ries by a score of 7-3 in the first game and 8-2 in the second game.

Another strong season for Weimar under head coach Roger Maupin, who seems to always have this team state tournament

ready. They finished with an overall record of 22-13-1 and 9-3

in district play.

As long as Maupin is calling the shots, Weimar softball will be in the hunt with their good, young talent at all positions. They also know how to put bat to the ball and score runs at important moments.

At this point, Weimar is look ing like they’ll be right back in state tournament contention in ’25.
