SENIORS TOGETHER SOCIAL SCHEDULE

Seniors Together, a place for senior’s, 55 years or older to so- cialize with others is held every first and third Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church Lighthouse Fellowship Hall at 201 Veteran’s Dr. in Columbus. and at the Weimar Civic Center in Weimar on the second and fourth Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The events includes card games, board games, Bingo with prizes, coffee and tea, movies, lunch provided, educational speakers, field trips including trips to casinos and so cial gathering.

LOAC TO PROVIDE FREE SUMMER CAMPS

COLUMBUS — The Live Oak Art Center in Columbus will provide free Arts Stars Summer Camps in June and July, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.. To register, visit the website www.liveoakartcenter.org under the classes and events tab.

FATHER'S DAY/BBQ CELEBRATION PLANNED MILLHEIM — Millheim Harmonie Hall will hold a Father’s Day and barbecue celebration Sunday, June 16 at the hall located on Farm-to-Market Road 949 between Sealy and Bellville. The meal is a real Texas style open pit barbecue served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The cost to make your plate and dine in is $18 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. To go plates at the drive-thru are $18. The event will include a cakewalk, with homemade cakes, at 11 a.m.; balloons and face painting by Creative Twists, and live auction at 1 p.m. To donate items for the live auction call (979) 877-4996. LIONS DANCE CLUB TO HOLD DANCE SEALY — The Lions Sealy Dance Club is having a dance on Saturday, June 1 at the Sealy American Legion Hall. Music willbe provided from 7:30 to 11 p.m. by Al Sulak and the Country Sounds. The public is always welcome.

FRIENDS OF SFA STATE PARK TO MEET SAN FELIPE — Friends of Stephen F. Austin State Park meet the last Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Nature Center in San Felipe. The meeting is open to the public, so please come and help support the park.

MOVIE NIGHTS SCHEDULED

LA GRANGE — Come for a free movie, hot dogs, popcorn and drinks beginning at 6:30 p.m. for the first Summer Movie Night Friday, June 7 at New Life Methodist Church at 1215 N. Von Minden in La Grange. Other movie nights include: June 21 and July 12 in the Fellowship Hall. Everyone is welcome to just show up, but if you want to RSVP to help on food count or have questions, call the church at 979-968-8323.

HUNTER SAFETY CERTIFICATION CLASS SET WEIMAR — Friends of the Weimar Public Library will be of-

fering a Hunter Safety certification class Friday, July 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Certification is required for hunters in Texas. The class will be held at the Weimar Junior High cafeteria. Seating is limited and attendees must be registered to get into the class. For registration information, call the Weimar Public Library 979-7256608. Seating for this event is limited.

FRELSBURG VFD TO HOLD FEAST

FRELSBURG — The Frelsburg Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual feast Sunday, June 9 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church grounds in Frelsburg. A chicken and sausage meal, at $15 per plate, dine-in or drive-thru, will be served starting at 11 a.m. Plates to go drive-through line will be available. Barbecue to go will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Hamburgers and nachos will be available after 3 p.m. There will be a drawing with first place prize a $5,000 gift card. Other activities include cake wheel, country store, games and silent auction. A free dance, with music by The Lost Cause Band, will follow the auction and continue until 8 p.m. Proceeds go toward new fire equipment and operating expenses.

FCCHS TO HOST PIKNIK

LA GRANGE — The Fayette County Czech Heritage Society will host its annual Piknik, with a meeting to follow, Tuesday, June 11 at 6 p.m. at TCHCC in La Grange. The high school scholarship recipient and the Fayette CHS Queen and Little Princess will also attend. There will be accordion music, Czech-English Bingo, food and a silent auction. Members, please bring a side dish and an auction item. Guests and potential new members are welcome! Vítáme Vás!

EAGLE LAKE FIREWORKS SHOW SLATED EAGLE LAKE —The 26th Annual Eagle Lake Fireworks Show will be held Wednesday, July 3 beginning at 9:15 p.m. at the usual location on Calhoun Road in Eagle Lake. Everyone is welcome to attend and admission is free, however, goodwill donations are greatly appreciated. For more information, call 979-232-0233. “It’s going to be a blast!”

JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION SET

SCHULENBURG — Schulenburg will host a Juneteenth celebration Wednesday, June 19 at Wolters Park Pavilion in Schulenburg. The event will start at 2 p.m. Admission is free but donations will be accepted. A complimentary barbecue meal, ice cream and watermelon will be served. Activities include a bike parade, bingo and dominoes. Music will be provided by DJ Master D from 2 to 6 p.m. and DJ Big O from 6 to 8p.m. This Juneteenth Celebration is made possible through generous donations. GBC VBS PRESENTS "HOOKED ON" JESUS GLIDDEN —Glidden Baptist Church Vacation Bible School 2024 will present “Hooked On” Jesus at the church located at 209 8th St. in Glidden. VBS, for kids ages four through 12, will be held June 17 through June 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. Register at the church office June 10 from 5 to 6 p.m. or call Jennifer at 979-942-4111 or Ashley at 409-795-0472. The last day of VBS will be parents night which will include food, praise and play games as a family.
