CHS students receive scholarships

The Columbus Garden Club has been giving scholarships to local high school students since 2001 and is proud to announce this year's recipients of its annual scholarships. Summer Adams will be at tending Blinn College and studying Kinesiology with a minor in biology and plans to become a physical therapist. She was an FFA Officer, Poultry Judge, NHS, Class Vice Pres ident, All American Cheerleader, and played golf, tennis and volleyball. She has worked at Schobel's and is currently working at Magnolia Society.

Brooke Wanjura will be attending Texas A&M and studying Animal Science with a minor in Agricultural Communications and plans to be an Agricultural Attorney.

She was First Vice Chairman for the Colorado County 4-H,

First Vice President for Colum- bus FFA, Texas 4-H Livestock Ambassador, NHS, Colorado County Junior Fair Board President, Texas 4-H Gold Star, Texas 4-H "I Dare You" Award recipient, Texas FFA Lonestar Degree, Cardinal Scholar, Texas Junior Brahman Association Director, American Junior Brahman Association Director and Queen, Bluebonnet Girls State Delegate. Wanjura is currently the owner and operator of Z Bar B Cattle Company.
