By Coach Larry “Bear” Kana WEIMAR — The Weimar Vets hosted the Shiner Clippers Sunday at Strickland Field in Weimar to pick up the win 17-12. After being down 2-1 from the first inning, the Vets outscored the Clippers 12-1 the next four innings. The Clippers battled back to close the gap to 13-8, but the Vets basically put the game away in the eighth, scoring four runs. Leading the offensive attack was Alex Angerstein- triple, double, two singles, five RBI's, two HBP's, five runs scored, two SB’s.
Other offensive leaders- Carson Pesl- double, single, four RBI’s, two runs scored, HBP, two SB’s; Kyle Pesl- two singles, HBP, SB, two RBI’s, run scored; Emerson Harvey- SB; Brady Bippert- single, run scored; Cody Barrett- RBI, Kevin Polasek- BB; Brett Janacek- single, run scored, SB, BB; Trevor Brown- single, BB, two runs scored, Mason Lampe- HBP, run scored; Kannyn Goehring- single, run scored. Ryker Goehring- three singles, RBI, BB, three runs scored. Defensive standouts- Angerstein, Carson Pesl, Kyle Pesl, Tappert, Brown. Cannot leave out Joseph Frank charging around the bases, scoring from first and the div ing catch in right.
