EAGLE LAKE — Members of Eagle Lake Noon Lions Club welcomed author James E. Brasher, and his wife, right, artist Amanda Danning who provided a fascinating program on June 13 at the Eagle Lake Community Center.
Brasher holds an advanced degree in geology and has worked for decades of experience in the oil and gas industry and groundwater conservation.
He is also an avid Texas historian and has recently authored a new book.
Danning, a forensic sculptor, artist, educator and public speaker, created the illustrations.
The book, 11 Days on the Colorado: The Standoff Between the Texian and Mexican Armies and the Pivotal Battle Unfought is still in the publishing process.
