SEALY - The "Tough Enough" film crew set up cameras in Sealy recently to make a movie about Texas native Frank- ie Groves, the first female to play in a UIL football game.

The movie centers on 16-year-old Groves who, in 1947, put on a football uniform of the Texas-based Stinnett Rat- tlers High to become the first girl to play high school football in Texas and held the title until 1993 when the State Board of Education would allow girls to play football.

Not surprisingly, the feedback was mostly negative, but that did not stop Groves from playing eight downs.

Now, a movie is in the making, chronicling her courage, determination, and the numerous roadblocks she encountered.

The film crew chose to shoot some of the most pivotal scenes in downtown Sealy, at the Sealy Tigers T.J. Mills Stadium, and the picturesque Cat Spring, adding an authentic touch to the narrative.
