Girl Friend’s get red carpet treatment

COLUMBUS – Taking advantage of a school-free day, some members of the Girl Friends group from Columbus Boys and Girls Club, visited Columbus City Hall on Feb. 13. Guided by Mayor Lori An Gobert, they toured the City Administration Building, were suited up by Richard LaCourse and Anna Shultz of the Columbus Volunteer Fire Department, met with Columbus Police Department Captain Wendy Alley and were all smiles after a very informative and exciting afternoon. The Girl Friend’s group were grateful to Mayor Gobert for arranging the visit and to their host for their service to the community.

The Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Champion Valleys’ mission statement is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.

The Girl Friend’s group is just one of the many groups that hits its mission statement.
