COLUMBUS – The annual Independence Day Celebration will be hosted again by the Columbus Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, the Fourth of July, starting at 6 p.m. at the Columbus City Pool, located at 102 Legion Dr. in Columbus featuring food trucks, music, Children & Pet Parade, and fireworks.

COLUMBUS – The annual Independence Day Celebration will be hosted again by the Columbus Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, the Fourth of July, starting at 6 p.m. at the Columbus City Pool, located at 102 Legion Dr. in Columbus featuring food trucks, music, Children & Pet Parade, and fireworks.

The city pool will be open from 6 to 9 p.m., free of charge, thanks to James Janik, Texas Farm Bureau Insurance.

The Children & Pet Parade is sponsored by Kountry Kritters, LLC, and is free to enter. Registration starts at 7 p.m.

The parade lineup will begin at 7:15 p.m. with a start time of 7:30 p.m. Parade awards will be given in the following categories: Most Patriotic, Best Behaved, Most Unique, and Honorable Mention.

Bring your lawn chairs as seating will not be available.

The Good Eats Stop food truck and Liberty Bell Sweet Treats will be on-site selling food, drinks, and ice cream snacks.

The city pool will be selling hotdogs and snow cones.

Darrel Appelt will provide the music for the evening and during the fireworks display. Come out and enjoy a variety of tunes, including patriotic music.

The fireworks display, which will start at 9:15 p.m., is once again sponsored by H-E-B, as they have generously done for years.

The Columbus High School football stadium will open at 8:45 p.m. for anyone wanting a prime viewing spot for the show.
