Columbus Lady Cards slide past Crystal City in basketball playoffs

lumbus High School girls basketball team edged out a close one against Crystal City High School Feb. 16 at North East ISD Gym in San Antonio by a final score of 51-50. Lady Cards senior point guard Treasure Upson logged four points, sophomore center Ally Tribe had 16 points, and junior shooting guard Karlee Mathis scored 19 points and hit four three-pointers.

The Lady Cards won their previous playoff contest 78-20 against Nixon-Smiley after getting bounced in the first round last year coming off the first un defeated regular season in school history.

Columbus is clearly on a mission and have all the pieces, in cluding legendary head coach Mike Albers, in order to make a deep run.
