Turtle Wing to Host 'Trauma in Children' Training

LA GRANGE – Turtle Wing strives to bring informative and relevant trainings to the rural area for educational professionals and the community as a whole, especially in relation to what we are hearing is needed from daycare staff, school teachers and administration, and families. This is why Turtle Wing has invited Katie Gross to give a training on 'Trauma in Children'.

LA GRANGE — Turtle Wing strives to bring informative and relevant trainings to the rural area for educational professionals and the community as a whole, especially in relation to what we are hearing is needed from daycare staff, school teachers and administration, and families. This is why Turtle Wing has invited Katie Gross to give a training on 'Trauma in Children'.

This session will consist of an overview of the types of trauma, the ACE study, effects of trauma, trauma treatment, and more. Katie Gross, (MA, LPC-S, NCC, TFCBT/PSB-CBT (Y) Certified) has experience as a thera pist, therapist supervisor, interim clinical director, and is currently the LPC for LGISD, SISD, & FISD.

The training will be held March 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. in La Grange at the Norma Webb Center, Room 108. Light refreshments will be served. Due to being fully underwritten by Turtle Wing, attendance is FREE.

This training is open to all who are interested, including but not limited to: Daycare staff, school teachers and administration, and other community members. Daycare Staff in attendance will receive 2 CEU's.

Turtle Wing Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization (donations are tax deductible) with the mission of helping individuals with learning challenges in rural areas achieve their full potential. The Foundations service area is Fayette, Lavaca, and Colorado counties.

Turtle Wing serves as a resource hub, connecting families who have children with learning challenges to the needed services in the community, helping them afford those services, and creating new opportunities for them to 'grow wings and fly'.
