FAYETTEVILLE — The Fayetteville High School volleyball team has been working to get back to state title contention after the departure of Brooklyn Jaeger as she is currently playing Division I volleyball for Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and is an incoming sophomore after leading her team to a state title just a few years ago.
Recently, Fayetteville has had to rely on their younger talent to step up and contribute, which is a lot to ask for underclassmen without a lot of experience.
The fact that these underclassmen were forced to play a bunch of minutes means that they’ll be more prepared in the coming years as they improve and grow as upperclassmen.
In 2024, they’ll have a senior defensive specialist in Harper Mau, a junior in outside hitter and setter Devynn Moeckel, and incoming senior Tara Vitek as an outside hitter.
They also have head coach Clint Jaeger who has won at an elite level in not just volleyball, but baseball as well.
The Lady Lions will likely be much improved in ’24 with a more experienced roster.
