FRIENDS OF NRA DINNER EVENT SET

SCHULENBURG — The 20th Annual Tri-County Friends of NRA event will be held Friday, July 26 at the Schulenburg KC Hall in Schulenburg. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for games, drawing, live auction and fun activities for all to enjoy. Individual tickets are $30. Reserved tables are available. CARMINE VFD TO HOLD FEAST

CARMINE — Carmine Volunteer Fire Department Firemen’s Feast will be held this Sunday, July 21. Fried chicken plates will be served drive-thru only at the Carmine Hall from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until sold out. Desserts and sausage links will also be available. A drawing will be held the same day. Donations will be accepted as payment for the meal.

FOOD TRUCK IN LEDBETTER

LEDBETTER — The Central Texas Food Bank Truck will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church located at the junction of Farmto- Market roads 1291 and 2145 on Saturday, July 20 from 10 to 11 a.m. Food will be distributed via the drive-thru method. Volunteers will distribute and load the pre-boxed food into each vehicle as the client drives through the line. Clients should clean out their back seats, trunks and truck beds to make room for the boxed food.

BVFD CHICKEN & SAUSAGE BBQ PLANNED

BERNARDO — The Bernardo Volunteer Fire Department will hold a chicken and sausage barbecue Sunday, July 21 at St. Roch’s Church in Mentz. Serving begins at 11 a.m. Dine in adult plates or to go plates are $15. The event will include live and silent auction, drawing, live music by the Lost Cause Band and kids water activities. All proceeds go toward the new station and equipment.

DINNER AND DANCING UNDER THE STARS SET

RUTERSVILLE — St. Paul Lutheran Church and Shared Lutheran Ministries will present the annual Dinner & Dancing Under the Stars on Saturday, July 20 at Hermann Sons Life Hall located at 5830 St. Hwy. 159 in Rutersville. Dinner will be served at 5 p.m. Menu includes fried chicken, sausage and trimmings with a live and silent auction. Music provided by The Back Porch Boys at 6 p.m. B.Y.O.B. and lawn chairs and members are encouraged to bring desserts for the meal. Free-will offering will be accepted.

All proceeds will benefit Lutherhill Ministries.

SCHULENBURG FESTIVAL TO BE HELD

SCHULENBURG — The Schulenburg Festival will be held Thursday, Aug. 1 through Sunday, Aug. 4 at Wolters Park in Schulenburg. The rodeo will be held Friday and Saturday. The event will include continous live music all weekend, IBCA BBQ CASI Chili cook-offs, parade, arts & crafts, fun run, softball, basketball, golf, kiddie parade and tricuycle races, and cornhole. HUNTER SAFETY CERTIFICATION CLASS SET

WEIMAR — Friends of the Weimar Public Library will be offering a Hunter Safety certification class Friday, July 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Certification is required for hunters in Texas. The class will be held at the Weimar Junior High cafeteria. Seating is limited and attendees must be registered to get into the class. MORAVIA PARISH PICNIC PLANNED

MORAVIA — Moravia Ascension Parish Picnic will be held Sunday, July 21 at the church located at FM 957 and FM 532 in Moravia. Picnic Mass will begin at 9:30 a.m. The stew and kettle fried chicken meal will be served at 11 a.m. at $13 per plate. Drive-thru plates to go will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event will include a country store, cake walk at noon, games, kids foam machine and water fun, games, auction sale at 1 p.m., and bingo from 1 to 5 p.m. There will be hamburgers, refreshments and entertainment on the picnic grounds. A prize drawing will be held at 7 p.m. Music during the day and night by Mark Halata & Texavia, and Texas Sound Check.

CHS CLASS OF 1969 TO HOLD REUNION

COLUMBUS — The Columbus High School Class of 1969 will hold its 55th class reunion Saturday, July 27 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Los Cabos Mexican Grill located at 2543 Highway 71 S. in Columbus. Order your meal upon arrival. Meal will be served at 3:30 p.m. Purchase your own drinks and food. Casual attire and guests are welcome. KC/ACPOA FISH FRY PLANNED

SEALY - The Austin Co. Peace Officers Assoc. in collabo - ration with the Sealy Knights of Columbus will hold a fish fry, Friday, July 19 at the Sealy Columbus Club Hall at 1310 Hwy 90 West in Sealy. Serving (drive-thru only) will be from 5:30 to 7:15 pm, for only $13 a plate. Cash or most major credit cards accepted.

Menu will include fried fish, French fries, pinto beans, coleslaw and hush puppies. Desserts will be available.

WAVFD PLANS FISH FRY

WINCHESTER — The Winchester Area Volunteer Fire De- partment's 27th annual fish fry and auction is scheduled to be held Saturday, July 27 at St. Michael’s Pavilion in Winchester. The meal will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. The dine-in or carry-out meal will be a free-will donation. The silent auction will be available between 4 and 6 p.m. with the live auction beginning at 6 p.m. The funds support the volunteer fire department which serves Winchester and the surrounding area.

ST. MICHAEL PLANS HARVEST FEAST

WEIMAR — St. Michael Catholic Church Harvest Feast will be held Sunday, Aug. 11 at Veteran’s Memorial Hall in Weimar.

The fried chicken and stew dinner will be $13 per plate. Serving starts at 11 a.m. Pick-up and picnic drive-thru and go will be available at St. Michael’s Family Center in Weimar. The event will include Mass at 10:30 a.m., auction at 1 p.m., Bingo from 2 to 5 p.m., country store, treasure chest, ring toss, antique and classic car show, famous picnic burgers, snow cones, snack bar, fish pond, train ride, Plinko, ball throw and more. Free dancing and music rom 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. with entertainment by Shiner Hobo Band, The Lost Cause Band and The Bigfoot Wallace Band. There will be a drawing for sweepstakes prizes.
