COLUMBUS - The evening kicked off for the Taste of Columbus Boys and Girls Club of Champion Valley fund - raiser on July 11 at its Columbus club. The music was great with Darrel Appelt and Phillip Brummett singing and playing guitars. The hall was filled with a hungry crowd ready to eat, and the contestants lined up around the club,
vying for the coveted titles bestowed by the satisfied masses from the chefs' food arsenal.
This highly successful fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club of Champi - on Valley is a beloved annual tradition,
made possible by the unwavering sup - port of the communities it serves. Each year, the crowd comes out to support the club's youth and enjoy a smorgasbord of culinary delights.
The teams taking the top titles were Vera Ranch for Best of Show, First-Place Appetizer went to the Columbus VFD, and First Place Dessert was scarfed up by Tri-County Realty. Second-place winners were the Colorado County Sheriff's Office for appetizers and the Columbus PD for desserts.
