FREE AFTER SCHOOL ART CLASSES COLUMBUS – The Live Oak Art Center located at 1014 Milam St. in Columbus offers free after school art classes every Wednesday and Thursday from 4 to 5 p.m. Register on the website www.liveoakartcenter.org under the classes and events tab. The free classes are offered throughout the whole school year. If registration is full they can always check back each semester.

SCHULENBURG FESTIVAL TO BE HELD SCHULENBURG — The Schulenburg Festival will be held Thursday, Aug. 1 through Sunday, Aug. 4 at Wolters Park in Schulenburg. The rodeo will be held Friday and Saturday. The event will include continuous live music all weekend, IBCA BBQ CASI Chili cook-offs, parade, arts & crafts, fun run, softball, basketball, golf, kiddie parade and tricycle races, and cornhole. WAVFD PLANS FISH FRY

WINCHESTER — The Winchester Area Volunteer Fire De- partment's 27th annual fish fry and auction is scheduled to be held Saturday, July 27 at St. Michael’s Pavilion in Winchester. The meal will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. The dine-in or carry-out meal will be a free-will donation. The silent auction will be available between 4 and 6 p.m. with the live auction beginning at 6 p.m. The funds support the volunteer fire department which serves Winchester and the surrounding area.

CHS CLASS OF 1969 TO HOLD REUNION COLUMBUS — The Columbus High School Class of 1969 will hold its 55th class reunion Saturday, July 27 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Los Cabos Mexican Grill located at 2543 Highway 71 S. in Columbus. Order your meal upon arrival. Meal will be served at 3:30 p.m. Purchase your own drinks and food. Casual attire and guests are welcome. For those wanting to, gather Friday, July 26 from 6 p.m. to closing at Hound Song Brewing Company at 535 Walnut St. in Columbus. Downtown shops will be open until 8 p.m. for those wanting to shop. EL SENIOR CITIZEN DANCE SCHEDULE EAGLE LAKE — The schedule for the Eagle Lake Senior Cit- izen Dance held the first Friday of each month from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Eagle Lake Community Center at 100 W. Walnut in Eagle Lake is: Aug. 2-Blue Denim; Sept. 6-Boogie Allen; Oct.

4-Larry Waddell & The Southern Stars; Nov. 1-No dance-early voting at the community center; and Dec. 6-Blue Denim (Christmas Dance).

FRIENDS OF SFA STATE PARK TO MEET SAN FELIPE — Friends of Stephen F. Austin State Park meet the last Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Nature Center in San Felipe. The meeting is open to the public, so please come and help support the park.

ST. MICHAEL PLANS HARVEST FEAST WEIMAR — St. Michael Catholic Church Harvest Feast will be held Sunday, Aug. 11 at Veteran’s Memorial Hall in Weimar.

The fried chicken and stew dinner will be $13 per plate. Serving starts at 11 a.m. Pick-up and picnic drive-thru and go will be available at St. Michael’s Family Center in Weimar. The event will include Mass at 10:30 a.m., auction at 1 p.m., Bingo from 2 to 5 p.m., country store, treasure chest, ring toss, antique and classic car show, famous picnic burgers, snow cones, snack bar, fish pond, train ride, Plinko, ball throw and more. Free dancing and music from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. with entertainment by Shiner Hobo Band, The Lost Cause Band and The Bigfoot Wallace Band.

There will be a drawing for sweepstakes prizes.

FRIENDS OF NRA DINNER EVENT SET SCHULENBURG — The 20th Annual Tri-County Friends of NRA event will be held Friday, July 26 at the Schulenburg KC Hall in Schulenburg. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for games, drawing, live auction and fun activities for all to enjoy. Individual tickets are $30. Reserved tables are available. EAGLE LAKE WILD MEETING TO BE HELD EAGLE LAKE — The Eagle Chamber of Commerce will hold an Eagle Lake Wild organizational meeting Thursday, Aug. 1 at 5:30 p.m. at the chamber office at 303 E. Main St. in Eagle Lake.
