Both the La Grange and Schulenburg High School volleyball teams received recognition for their efforts in putting the pen to the paper in the classroom and earned a spot on the AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) Academic Awards list.
For Schulenburg, it’s the 11th consecutive year they’ve received the award and they’ve also received the AVCA honor roll award for the fifth consecutive year.
La Grange and Schulenburg were two of 506 high school teams across the United States to be recognized and 46 of the teams were from Texas.
For the GPA award, it’s for high school teams that were in the top 20% in the United States based on their team cumulative GPA.
La Grange had a team cumulative GPA of 3.7700 and Schulenburg had a 96.569. 170 teams in the United States received the award and 24 teams were from Texas.
