Rice football alum Roger Gradney gears up for Nebraska

Roger Gradney is an incoming utility player for Nebraska football that recently graduated from Rice High School as a wide receiver and defensive back. He enrolled early at Nebraska last December and has the ability to do pretty much anything on the football field, which is prob ably why Nebraska wants to use him as an “ATH.” ATH stands for athlete, meaning he could be used in a variety of roles.

Gradney was an essential piece for third year head coach Brad Dumont as he was an upperclassmen with tons of athleticism and helped improve a Rice team that is headed in the right direction. The Big Ten conference will be a great test for the incoming freshman, but it’s nothing that he can’t handle given his pro- duction and ability on the field.
