BELLVILLE — Austin County Republican Chairman Charles Beers helped kick off the bi-annual Republican fundraiser on Aug. 3 at the Austin County Fairgrounds in Bellville. The featured speaker was Lt. Col. Allen B. West (retired). West is a highly decorated military veteran who served in several war zones, a fierce conservative advocate, a House member, and a highly sought-after speaker. West spoke on voter involvement.
West stressed the need to get out and vote and not take things for granted. This election is pivotal in the way the country will be run and how it will affect everyone’s pocketbook and moral compass.
The crowd was energetic and delighted to hear West speak after hewalked around the room and spoke to many one-on-one.
