Fayette County Deputy Cody Williams stopped a vehicle on Interstate 10 near the 664-mile marker for a traffic violation on July 31.
During a consented search, Williams detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. He found beaver plushies that felt like packages inside and observed the plushies were restitched.
The beavers were carrying marijuana and ecstasy.
The driver, Lugene Davis Jr., 47, of San Antonio, was arrested and jailed. Davis complained of chest pains and was transported to the local hospital for treatment.
The marijuana and ecstasy was seized and a warrant will be issued for Davis. The marijuana weighed over two pounds.
