LA GRANGE — La Grange is known for having elite athletes, but it’s also the coaching that makes way for winning and the athletes performing to their best ability. Lady Leopards head coach Leslie Coltrain has been there for years and teaches her players on hand during a game, which is the key to being a good coach. Coltrain not only understands volleyball, but loves the game and wants the best out of her players. In the 2023 season, La Grange had a 20-24 overall record, but had a winning record of 7-5 in district play.
The Lady Leopards will be returning seniors Landri Hernandez, Cara Homer, and also have younger elite talent in juniors Kylie Trlicek and Carley Ulrich. With Coltrain’s in-game coaching tactics and experience on hand, La Grange has a great chance to make a playoff run and even a shot at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland for the state tournament in November.
