The area doesn’t only consist of one or two good cross country teams. It actually has a wide variety of teams that make it far past the regular season and even to the state championships at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.
Teams that usually make a good showing at state are Fayetteville, Columbus and Bellville, but there are also select runners from a ton of other schools that have a great season and earn their way to state.
Some of these schools are La Grange, Brazos, Flatonia, Sealy, and sometimes even Rice and Weimar. It really just depends on the year and how things shape out for that particular season.
Regardless, the area always represents well in cross country and it will likely stay that way for years to come with the amount of schools in the area and the elite talent that these schools carry.
