The Columbus High School volleyball team picked up right where they left off from recent sea- sons: dominant, poised, and victo - rious. The Lady Cardinals are off to another fast start as they went undefeated in tournament play, a tournament they hosted called the Columbus Varsity Volleyball Clas - sic August 15 at Cardinals Gym.
Columbus started off the tourna- ment with a 25-12, 25-20 win vs La Grange, then handled Brazos with a score of 25-13, 25-8. They capped off the day with a 25-17, 25-16 vic -
tory over Burton.
Columbus head coach Kayley Johns is still running the show and even though it's still way early, this team seems to already be in state tournament form based on the tremendous success they’ve had in the past few years. The Lady Car dinals are rocking and rolling early per usual and this kind of success is likely to continue throughout the entire season.
