Sealy cross country off to hot start

SEALY — The Sealy High School cross country team was very successful in their first two meets on the girls and boys side.

The Tiger and Lady Tiger group hosted their own meet, Frio Friday Night Lights, on Aug. 9 and then competed in the Rice Raider Invi - tational Aug. 17. For the Frio meet, the boys fin - ished first as a team and the girls finished second with Gavin Alma - guer, Aaron Munoz and Efrain Vil - lagomez finishing first, second, and

third in order for the boys.

On the girls side, Ria Torres and Lauren Necker both made the top 10, finishing seventh and eighth. Almaguer finished first again in the Rice meet and there was a combined mixture of Rice and Sealy runners in the top 10.

Four Sealy girls finished in the top 10 for their race. These runners in order from second to fifth were Lauryn Neckar, Ella Novicke, Jacie Kainer and Morgan Zaskoda.

Sealy is propelling from the very beginning and we could see a bunch of these runners in Round Rock for the state tournament.
