FAYETTEVILLE - After struggling last year, Fayetteville volleyball seems in peak form already as they have a record of 5-1 to the start the season with three of the wins being against Hempstead, Covenant Chris - tian, and Faith Academy. Some key players for the Lady Lions have been Lainey Gromaski and Devynn Moeckel. Gromaski had 11 kills in the game vs Hemp- stead and Moeckell had six aces.
They shut out Hempstead by a score of 3-0 and beat Covenant Christian two sets to one, then a two set sweep vs Faith Academy.
Fayetteville was very young last year, which made it tough to come out on top, but last year's experience seemed to have helped them going into this year as they are off to a great start.
