The Columbus Fire Department was called out on the morning of Sept. 1 for a fire on County Road 151. The fire totally destroyed an RV the owners were using as a temporary housing while they built their forever home. The family of three smelled something burning and exited the RV before it became fully involved. It appears the fire was accidental. Rock Island VFD was called in for tanker support while the Colorado County EMS and sheriff's office were on standby.
