SCHULENBURG - Schulenburg officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Interstate 10 on Aug. 25 at about 11:30 p.m. Officers observed an AR-style pistole in plain view and smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle.
The driver, Antonio Almestica, 22, of San Antonio, was detained and a probable cause search was conducted.
The AR had a chambered round with an extended magazine and three baggies of marijuana were located along with a Glock 23.
Almestica was arrested and booked into the Dan R. Beck Jus -
tice Center in La Grange.
Fayette County Sheriff’s Of- fice assisted with the stop.
