EAGLE LAKE - The Eagle Lake Noon Lions Club welcomed guest speaker Brad Dumont, head football coach and athletic director for Rice Consolidated Indepen- dent School District, on Aug. 29 in Eagle Lake. Football, volleyball, track & field, cross-country, cas ketball, softball and baseball were mentioned.
The football team has worked out all summer at various camps around the state. All boys and girls athletes will have opportunities to train in the weight room with their strength-training coach. This year’s varsity football team consists of veteran players looking forward to a great season. Equally, the varsity volleyball team is working hard and expecting big things. Dumont expressed gratitude for a talented and diligent staff of coaches who work from sun-up to sun-down every day, and longer on game days, to teach and mentor the athletes.
He is looking forward to a winning season for all the teams and is thankful for all the family support and enthusiasm. Dumont closed with this invitation: “There’s a lot going on at Rice High School! Y’all come on out to all the events! You’ll be glad you did!”
