LOUISE — The Flatonia High School football team won handedly in their first game Aug. 30 by a final score of 33-6 against Louise High School. Flatonia quarterback Beck Zimmerman threw for 98 yards and three touchdowns while Kade Giese had 71 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Another top performer was Keegan Green with 69 yards and a touchdown, as well as 27 yards receiving and a touchdown to go along with it.
Second-year head coach Brent Mascheck seems to have this team in great order with a win like this in their first game. It still may be too early to tell, but this is a great sign for a team that went about .500 last year. This year, it's looking like they could win seven, eight, nine, or even reach the double-digit win column with this kind of start. Flatonia is in great shape heading into the rest of the season.
