Flatonia Homecoming King and Queen

provide some challenging experiences, such as balancing a full college schedule with a future work-study program as he lives in a college dorm.

The class he’s most excited about involves learning the basics of code and how to write code for computers. He has a strong interest in computer technology and can’t wait to learn more. He consistently appeared on the A/B Honor Roll all four high school years. Varsity baseball and basketball were among his athletic passions. His community work included being a volunteer custodian for the Columbus First Church of Nazarene and working as a volunteer with the M.D. Anderson Blood Drive.

Thompson received a Columbus Christian Women’s Organization (CCWO) Scholarship. President Sharon Johnson was delighted that their fundraising efforts made a scholarship available for such a deserving student. CCWO worked through the local non-profit 501(c)(3), Columbus Educa tion Foundation Inc. (CEF), to facilitate the scholarship process. CEF helped, from creating an application to the evaluation and selection by teachers familiar with an his classroom performance.
