SENIORS TOGETHER SOCIAL SCHEDULE

Seniors Together, a place for senior’s, 55 years or older to so-

cialize with others is held every first and third Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church Lighthouse Fel - lowship Hall at 201 Veteran's Dr. in Columbus. and at the Weimar Civic Center in Weimar on the second and fourth Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The events includes card games, board games, Bingo with prizes, coffee and tea, movies, lunch provided, educational speakers, field trips including trips to casinos and so cial gathering.

WEIMAR CHESS CLUB TO BEGIN

WEIMAR - The Weimar Chess Club (WCC) meets every Tuesday from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. at the Weimar Public Library in Weimar. The WCC is free to ages 5 to adult. David McCall is the club sponsor. He is a retired science teacher (15 years), elementa - ry school counselor (20 years) and has 19 years experience as a scholastic chess coach. He will provide free chess instructions and start each WCC meeting with a short lesson, which is followed with casual play time following International Chess Federation rules. KC TO HOLD FRIED PORK STEAk MEAL

COLUMBUS - The Columbus Knights of Columbus Council 2971 will hold a chicken fried pork stead drive-thru Sunday, Sept. 29 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Columbus Hall in Columbus. Pro - ceeds will benefit St. Anthony School Special Projects. Meal tick -

ets are $13 and include chicken fried pork steak with gravy, butter potatoes, green beans and roll. CDA will have desserts available

for sale.

Christian book club for girls to begin LA GRANGE - A non-profit Christian book club for women is spon - soring a new program for girls in fifth and sixth grade. The program starts Monday, Sept. 23 and runs through Dec. 2 on Mondays from 4 to 5 p.m. at New Life Methodist Church located at 1215 N. Von Minden in La Grange. The cost for the fall session is $10. This includes snacks, activi - ties, books an all materials. Applications can be picked up at the church or emailed to parents by request by calling 713-962-8452. Girls will have a book to read and discuss each week in small groups. Groups are limited to 12 girls per grade level.

EL SENIOR CITIZEN DANCE SCHEDULE EAGLE LAKE - The schedule for the Eagle Lake Senior Cit - izen Dance held the first Friday of each month from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Eagle Lake Community Center at 100 W. Walnut in Eagle Lake is: Oct. 4-Al Sulak & The Country Sounds; Nov. 1-No dance-early voting at the community center; and Dec. 6-Blue Denim (Christmas Dance).

FU METHODIST SHARE YOUR CHRISTMAS COLUMBUS - The First United Methodist Church at 1229 Milam St. in Columbus will be doing its Share Your Christmas. Anyone wishing to donate to help less fortunate children, call 979732-2643.

KULHANEK FAMILY REUNION SET

FAYETTEVILLE - The annual Kulhanek Family Reunion will be held on Sunday, Sept. 22 beginning with 10 a.m. Memorial Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville. After mass everyone will gather for lunch and fellowship at Heh, Re - member When located at 3031 FM-1291, Ste 200 in Fayetteville. Bring your favorite dish to share for a potluck luncheon which will begin at 12:30 pm. Bread, tea and fruit punch will be provid - ed. Cash bar will also be available. IMMACULATE CHURCH TO HOLD BAZAAR SEALY - As new pastor of Sealy's, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fr. Wayne Wilkerson extends a warm and wel - come invitation to all, to attend their annual bazaar and mome - coming, Sunday, Sept. 29. The fun begins at 10:30 a.m., with barbecue, homemade Mexican food, Polka and Tejano music, a corn-hole and tamale contest, country store, kid's games, and both a silent, and live auction, which will include a '36 Dodge Hump - back Panel Truck and handmade quilts.
