LA GRANGE — Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reported on Sept. 10, around 5 p.m., the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call report ing a male stole a chainsaw from Tractor Supply in La Grange and left, walking towards Sutherland Lumber. The La Grange Police Department responded to the scene.
Law enforcement was advised that the male had gotten into a grey truck and headed westbound on State Highway 71.
Deputies attempted to locate the truck and did so on Old Lockhart Road traveling westbound just past St. James Church Road when Deputy Jared Michalec conducted a traffic stop. Deputy James Ulbig and a narcotics unit arrived and assisted Michalec.
Two males occupied the truck; one admitted taking the chainsaw and a small inverter.
Arrested was the driver, Johnny Pantallion, 37, of La Grange and James Crysup, 26, of Smithville.
Both subjects were transported to jail and charged with theft of property.
