The ACSO Criminal Investigations Division (CID) learned that Dorman was attempting to steal a tractor when he was run over by the same tractor. According to witnesses, immediately after stealing the tractor, it was stopped to adjust the gears/transmission. The tractor ran over Dorman.

Several individuals who participated in the tractor theft and death of Dorman were Michael Frank Ford, 18, William Bradley LaRoche, 17, and Curtis Earl Mosley, Jr, 25. Ford and LaRoche are residents of the Magnolia area, while Mosley is an Austin County resident.

Arrest warrants were issued for Ford, LaRoche and Mosley on Sept. 24 for Felony Murder 1st Degree. Ford and LaRoche were arrested on Sept. 25. Mosley was taken into custody by the US Marshal’s Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force. ACSO CID led this investigation with assistance from the Colorado Coun- ty Sheriff's Office, Montgomery County Constable PCT 5, the Austin County District Attorney, and the US Marshals Service violent offender task force.
