Stop Bullying Art Contest Awards Ceremony to be held

COLUMBUS — October is Stop Bullying Awareness Month.

The Wellness Council again hosted the second annual Stop Bullying Art Contest for all the schools in Colorado County.

The 354 entries received are now displayed in The Live Oak Art Center in Columbus in the upper gallery and will remain so throughout the month of October.

There were 41 winners selected by age group categories and suggested prompts regarding the topic of bullying.

An open to the public reception will be held on Thursday, Oct. 10 from 6 tp 7:30 p.m. at The Art Center.

Food and beverages will be served while you browse the art work which is both full of emotion and thought provoking.

The reception will conclude with a presentation of medals and gift cards to winners.

The contest was designed to provide students with the opportunity to speak back to us on the topic of bullying. It is important that we, as a community, take the time to listen to our children and look for ways to help Stop Bullying.
