THE WOODLANDS - The Nike South Invitational XC Meet took place Sept. 27 and 28 at Bear Branch Park in The Woodlands.
The NSI is a stopping point for many teams because it is so competitive and it is the same course used for the Nike Cross Regional which qualifies teams for the Nike National Meet in Oregon in December.
All of the Divisions have over 100 runners. The Elite Boys Division, which is the top runners in the state, was won by a runner from Parkview Baptist. He ran 3.1 miles with an amazing time of 15:21. The Elite Girls was won by a girl from Flower Mound Marcus, who finished the 3.1 miles in 17:57.
The Varsity Boys and Girls Divisions have three races – Red, Green and White with each having 100+ runners. They are then combined for results.
Ethan Stegent from Faith Academy ran in the Green against 100 runners and crossed the finish line in 13th place. Overall, against 413 runners, he placed 70th. He ran 3.1 miles in 17:50. The winner posted a time of 16:15.
The Junior High and JV Di -
visions were run on Friday.
Daniella Skardenni placed 45th against 118 and ran a 15:05. Jocelyn Eckerman was 95th running 17:05. Everett Miglicco, in the JH race was 89th with 138 runners in his race.
The Knights will go to the St John Maverick Ramble, Saturday, Oct. 5, at Spring Creek Park in Tomball.
