ALTAIR — The Rice High School volleyball team lost in three sets September 24 at Raid- ers Gym by a final score of 1525, 19-25, 17-25. Rice had some quality offense going throughout the contest, but Industrial had just a little more of it to hold off the Lady Raiders in three sets.
“We have to make some adjust- ments," said Rice head volleyball coach David Leist. "Industrial's good. I'm not gonna take it away from them. But at the same time, we got to make adjustments. I think we're not used to a quick offense. When people run quick offenses, we get a little bit lost. We'll keep working this year and we're getting better. That's all I'm asking from these girls is to play every single game and we're getting better, so I'm excited." Industrial had a 15-12 lead to start the first set, then scored 8 points in a row to make it 23-13 on a couple aces, some kills, and a few mistakes from Rice. A ball in the net followed by a serve out of bounds from the Lady Raiders won Industrial the set 25-15.
