COLUMBUS - After fighting val - iantly for his life, Aleks Medrano passed away on Oct. 2 from a brief illness. The illness struck out of nowhere and claimed the well-liked Columbus foot - ball player. Medrano was a senior at Co - lumbus Independent School District who played offensive and defensive football positions for the Columbus Cardinals. The community and communities around the area poured in their condo - lences to the parents, Carlos and Dawn Medrano, and family. Prayer services and fundraising efforts are being held to support the Medrano family in this dif -
ficult time.
