Austin County Rodeo has its ups and downs

A rodeo cowboy says a prayer over his animal and himself with words only the Lord knows. Rodeoing is not for the faint of heart and the Austin County Rodeo provides plenty of action.

There is no clowning around when things get serious when a cowboy gets caught up in his rig. These professional clowns aren't joking around when its time to help save one of the family.

They may be competing against each other on the rodeo circuit but there is a comradery behind the chutes. Many of these cowboys have been competing for years on the same circuits. The Austin County Rodeo still has action happening Oct. 11 and 12 at the fairgrounds in Bellville.
